"Aztec sun 2"


For the last 23 years Alden farms has been my creative outlet. When I was 14 years old I said I would someday own a garden center never did I think it would become Alden farms.  Alden farms is a garden shop located on 2+ acres in Beallsville md. It is owned by one person and run by one person but enjoyed I hope by many.aldenfarms.net  For the last couple of years I have been trying to incorporate my other passion, stone sculpting with the garden shop and they have blended well together. I have begun to install and maintain a sculpture garden here both to sell and show my sculpture but also to give customers a reason to stay longer and get some ideas for there own yards.

The gallery shows have done much for my ego but they have also taught me many things. They helped me design and develop stands for my sculpture so that they could be free standing. They also taught me how to transport these sculptures to difficult locations and to display them together. Other things that should have been obvious became clear like paying 30% commissions for little or no advertisement and not being there when potential clients might. All  this new found knowledge lead me to the decision to do what I should have done right from the start. I am now concentrating all my efforts in incorporating David Therriault stone design with Alden farms. Alden farms will be the one and only gallery for my work .

Again a long time

In the last year or so I have continued to sculpt using stone as a media. I have been selling and displaying these sculptures at my garden shop and home ,Alden farms. It has been a very good experience and I believe ,well received. I have also had a few gallery shows both in yellow springs Penn. and Potomac Md. These shows were a great learning experience and extremely good for my ego.
